BIOGRAPHY RESEARCH POEMS
We often ask students to read biographies. Writing a poem is a creative way students can share information they learned from research about a famous person. Several types of poetry work well for this purpose, in particular, acrostic, concrete poems, diamante, found poetry, free verse, list poems, persona poems, and poems of address. Here are some examples of biography research poems:
John Lennon's Guitar (persona poem)
Elizabeth Cady Stanton (list poem, written in two voices)
Satchel Paige (acrostic)
Georgia (found poem)
Andy Warhol (found poem)
